2018 Research Presentation at our school and SGH Achievement Report Session

 On January 31st, the 2018 Research Presentation at our school was held in Takaoka Bunka Hall multi-purpose meeting room and second year students in the Course for Inquiry on Humanities and Social Sciences and Natural Sciences presented their research results which they had been working on for about 10 months with advice from university professors and our teachers since last April.

photo 2 The General Course students and teachers attended in the 5th period, and in the 6th, the first year students in the Course for Inquiry on Humanities and Social Sciences and Natural Sciences, Toyama University/Toyama Prefectural University professors, high school teachers in Toyama prefecture and parents attended. The presentation was carried out in a poster session form. After the presentation by the designated members, the Q & A that followed made the session very active. 

SGH Achievement Report Session

photo 3After the research presentation, the SGH Achievement Report Session followed in the main hall.

First, the representative of the second year students made an opening speech, and talked about what they had learned through the theme research, which is the core of our SHG program, and gave some advice to the first year students. Then, the physics group presented “Challenging the ancient Egyptians! ~ considering the optimal method of carrying gigantic rocks~” in English, demonstrating their achievement through the overseas presentation skill up class.

 Second, the head of SGH project presented the SGH achievement report on the work over five years and the skills acquired through the programs. 

 Then, Kyoto University honorary professor, Akihiro Kaneda, who is our school senior, gave a comment. He talked about his opinion of our SGH project and the significance of research activities or linguistic studies, and gave important suggestions for our future research activity plans to the students and teachers.
